Mike and I became friends years ago through my childhood best friend. Two winters ago we went to Zion NP together and hiked Angel’s Landing in the snow – which is now my favorite way to hike it – and then took a day trip to Bryce Canyon and spent a day hiking the Fairyland Loop Trail (10 miles once we factored in having to hike the closed road to the trailhead).
So when Mike told me he was ready to propose to Morgan, I proposed an adventure engagement session at Yosemite. They were both in, HOWEVER … Morgan was afraid of heights. I planned our route so that we could stop at any time, but kept saying “there’s another cool spot in about half a mile … do you want to try that?” … and Morgan never said no!
We ended up doing a full 6.4 miles with a little over 2100 feet of elevation gain, and we were able to create some of my favorite images of all time.
